The Second Hospital of Tianjin Medical University was founded in 1972 and was established on the site of the former Hebei Provincial Hospital. At the beginning of the establishment of the hospital, the hospital gathered a large number of very well-known experts at home and abroad, which laid a solid foundation for the development of the hospital. After more than 40 years of development, it has developed into a comprehensive tertiary university hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, and prevention. The hospital covers an area of 86,000 square meters, with a building area of 132,000 square meters. The hospital created the Department of Pain by Professor Deng Naifeng in 1981, and was designated as a secondary clinical department.
